SWEDEN SPOUSE AND FAMILY MEMBERS VISA

Spouse visa which is known as a “dependent permit in Sweden allows people to bring their dependents with them using different types of permits. The sort of permit that you must apply for varies depending on the situation of the individual residing in Sweden.

Anyone wishing to move to Sweden to be with their spouse, children, or parents must get a visa. You are able to remain and reside in Sweden with your family if you have a family Sweden visa from UK. You must fulfil a number of criteria in order to be granted a family Sweden Schengen visas.

 The following documents must be included with your application for a Sweden Spouse and Family member’s visa:

 SWEDEN VISA REQUIREMENTS UK

  • Application form completed and signed by applicant
  • Valid Passport: must be current, no more than 10 years old, and have at least two blank pages.
  • Older passports having Schengen visas on them, if applicable
  • Flight bookings for round-trip travel
  • Travel insurance for the Schengen Area with a minimum of 30,000 euros coverage
  • Accommodation proof including:
  • A letter of sponsorship or accommodation letter of sponsorship
  • Hotel bookings or reservations
  • Rent agreement stating that you have rented an apartment or room in Sweden
  • Accommodation proof in EU Hospital or Clinic
  • Cover letter describing your travel objectives addressing the Visa authorities
  • Proof of your financial ability to cover medical costs and other costs during your stay in Sweden is required

One of the following can be submitted:

  • Last 3-6 months bank statement
  • A letter of sponsorship that includes your sponsor’s contact information, bank statements, and a photocopy of their ID or passport
  • Proof of treatment-related advance payments
  • A letter confirming that your country’s government is covering the cost of your medical treatment, signed by the ministry of health in your nation
  • Proof of Visa fee payment
  • Proof of civil status like marriage certificate, death certificate etc. (if applicable)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

If you have a Swedish spouse (or are legally married to one), you must provide:

  • A marriage certificate or other legal proof of the marriage
  • A document providing the proof of the registration of your marriage in your home country

If you and your Swedish partner lived together in your home country, you must submit:

  • A certificate of population registration
  • Rental agreement, contract, or proof of buying accommodation

If in case you are expecting a child, you must provide:

  • Pregnancy certificate

If you will be residing in Sweden with children who is under 18 years, you must provide:

  • Copies of the passport of child with name, date of birth, country of origin, photo, and signature (if applicable)
  • Birth certificate
  • If the other parent isn’t travelling with the child to Sweden, their consent
  • A custody order, if you have one, or, if it applies, a death certificate
  • Adoption papers (if applicable)
